![]() ![]() A suite of 240 computer energy simulations for building prototypes complying with ASHRAE 90.1- 2007 was developed. However, out of the 109 addenda, 34 were preliminarily determined to have a measureable and quantifiable impact. Most addenda were deemed to have little quantifiable impact on building efficiency for the purpose of DOE’s final determination. All 109 addenda processed more » by ASHRAE in the creation of Standard 90.1-2010 from Standard 90.1-2007 were reviewed by DOE, and their combined impact on a suite of 16 building prototype models in 15 ASHRAE climate zones was considered. The final analysis considered each of the 109 addenda to ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007 that were included in ASHRAE Standard 90.1- 2010. Department of Energy (DOE) conducted a final quantitative analysis to assess whether buildings constructed according to the requirements of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE)/Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) Standard 90.1-2010 (ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2010, Standard 90.1-2010, or 2010 edition) would result in energy savings compared with buildings constructed to ANSI/ASHRAE/Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) Standard 90.1- 2007(ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007, Standard 90.1-2007, or 2007 edition). Software developers, developing tools for automated creation of the baseline model can use this reference manual as a guideline for developing the rules for the baseline = , Energy modelers using ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2010 for beyond code programs can use this document as a reference manual for interpreting requirements of the Performance Rating method. Potential users of this manual include energy modelers, software developers and implementers of “beyond code” energy programs. ![]() It should be noted that this document is created independently from ASHRAE and SSPC 90.1 and is not sanctioned nor approved by either of those entities. ![]() The procedures and processes described in this manual are designed to provide consistency and accuracy by filling in gaps and providing additional details needed by users of the PRM. This document is intended to be a reference manual for the Appendix G Performance Rating Method (PRM) of ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1- 2010 (Standard 90.1-2010).The PRM is used for rating the energy efficiency of commercial and high-rise residential buildings with designs that exceed the requirements of Standard 90.1. ![]()
